Exploring Mediumship:
Answers
to common questions
While Mediumship is becoming more widely known I thought it
would be helpful to answer some of the questions I’m often asked. While many elements of Mediumship are
common, every Psychic Medium is an individual. We are fortunate in the Dallas/ Fort Worth area to have
several excellent Mediums. While
some may have similar experiences all are unique in the way their gifts
manifest. The following reflects
my own personal experiences and views.
What does a psychic medium do?
As a medium I attempt to communicate with loved ones in
spirit. I say attempt because I
cannot guarantee a spirit will show up.
Most often I’ll feel a presence and get information that you can
confirm.
What kind of
information do you get?
It really depends on the individual spirit. It can be a name, the beginning of a
name, or even a symbol for a name.
For the name Bruce I see a red
1965 Mustang (I’m sure your thinking, What? I had a good friend in high
school named Bruce. He had a red
‘65 mustang, sold it and then really regretted it!) Some of my symbols have dual meanings:
for the name Mary and for someone
who is Catholic I’ll see a picture of the Virgin Mary. Concepts and feelings also come through
to me. After my client has confirmed
and recognized who I’m communicating with, I’ll listen for a
message. With ideas it’s as
if the spirit puts the information
in an “idea ball” and then drops it into my mind. This way I know more information all at
once and can convey it in my words.
Sometimes it feels like someone is whispering in my ear. I’ll hear the word or words in my
mind but feel a pressure in my left ear.
During one reading I kept
wanting to use the word “piddlefart.” I used to use this word years ago but then one day
realized the visual that it gave
and decided to give it up, (I mean really, that is not an attractive
word). I later found out the spirit that I was connecting with used that word often when they
were alive.
Why would someone want to see a psychic medium?
The reason can be very personal. Three common reasons are: 1. to get confirmation that their
loved one is doing well and that their spirit continues, 2. to say something that needs to be said, 3. to hear something that the client needs to hear.
Can you prove to me there is life after death and that we
can communicate with our deceased loved ones?
No, and I wouldn’t want to try. Like many people my
beliefs are based on my experiences.
I think it would be arrogant of me to try to change or alter someone else’s
belief system. My experiences have
defined my beliefs and I respect yours.
Do I have to see a psychic medium to communicate with my
loved ones on the other side?
Absolutely not!
Your loved ones on the other side can hear you and are able to get
messages through to you.
Does it matter how long ago my loved one died?
No,
what does seem to matter is the connection you feel to them or the connection
they have to you. I never met my
maternal grandmother: she passed years before I was born. But we have a tremendous connection and
I hear from her often. My best
discernments have happened when there was a real need to connect
as opposed to just a whim or curiosity.
Is there anything I can do to get a better reading/discernment?
Yes, before your appointment specifically invite the loved
one you want to reach to come
visit with us. Next, on a
paper write down the names of your
departed loved ones, their relationship to you, to each other and how they
passed if you know. Make a second
list of living loved ones. I
won’t want to see either list but
you can refer to it during the discernment to help you remember. If you can’t remember then you
can’t confirm the name and/or a condition of passing when I get the
information. Finally having a deep
desire to connect with your loved one is important. There is something to the emotional energy of love and
longing to communicate that helps this process as I experience it.
